Niran Nirannoot joins the Global BIOFIN Team as the Environmental Finance Specialist for the Africa and Asia Region.
She brings deep expertise and a passion for making finance work for nature.
Niran was the Country Project Manager for BIOFIN Thailand. She led the implementation of the Biodiversity Finance Plan and brought attention to Koh Tao Island with practical solutions—crowdfunding and tourist fees—to help protect coral reefs and support local communities.
Niran’s career covers various roles with international organizations and the private sector. At the Federation of Thai Industries, she pushed for policy change through private sector’s impact investment. She contributed to UNOPS’s tsunami recovery programme in the Maldives. With FAO, she empowered smallholder farmers to connect with cross-border organic value chains.
Niran holds degrees in Finance & Banking and the European Studies Programme in Economics. She has worked across Southeast Asia, East Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, navigating diverse cultural and economic settings.
