Nicolas Xanthopoulos is a Sustainable Finance Specialist with over a decade of experience in the design, development, and management of innovative financial mechanisms that support sustainable development. He served as National Coordinator of BIOFIN Argentina at UNDP, where he led the formulation and early implementation of nature finance solutions, such as the world’s first Jaguar Protection Insurance. His work has contributed directly to Argentina’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan, presented at COP16 under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Nicolas is also the Co-Founder and former COO of Sumatoria, a pioneering impact finance organization in Argentina, where he designed and implemented innovative solutions, including social, green, and sustainable bonds, impact trusts, blended finance instruments, and a crowd-investing platform. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Economic Development at UNSAM.
