Ahmed Abdallah is an experienced environmental finance and project management specialist with over two decades of work in biodiversity finance, sustainable development, and public policy. He coordinated the development of Egypt’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) and oversaw the production of core BIOFIN outputs, including the Biodiversity Policy and Institutional Review (PIR), Biodiversity Expenditure Review (BER), Financial Needs Assessment (FNA), and Biodiversity Finance Plan (BFP). Ahmed also serves as Egypt’s Financial Resources Mobilization Focal Point to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and has served as a member of the CBD Technical Expert Group on Financial Reporting. He has contributed to national and regional efforts to align finance with biodiversity and climate objectives. Ahmed holds advanced degrees in Economics of Development from Erasmus University Rotterdam and in Business Administration, and brings extensive expertise in financial management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning for nature-based solutions and ecosystem conservation.
