This publication explores how Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) can serve as a biodiversity finance solution, helping countries mobilize resources while ensuring the fair and equitable sharing of benefits from genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge. It provides a step-by-step approach for integrating ABS into national biodiversity finance plans and identifies financial instruments and investments needed to strengthen enabling environments, develop ABS value chains and facilitate effective benefit-sharing in support of Target 19 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
