Dominican Republic’s Policy and Institutional Review

The Policy and Institutional Review (PIR), developed under BIOFIN in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, examines the Dominican Republic’s policy, institutional and financial landscape for biodiversity.

The review identifies key stakeholders, policy and institutional gaps, and opportunities to strengthen biodiversity finance. It also explores potential financing mechanisms and opportunities to better integrate biodiversity into the country’s emerging green and blue finance architecture.

Its findings provide a foundation for the development of the Dominican Republic’s first Biodiversity Finance Plan.
