The study was commissioned by the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) of the United Nations Development Programme in Mexico (UNDP) with the aim of integrating biodiversity considerations into the financial sector, identifying risks and opportunities arising f rom nature degradation and conservation, respectively, and creating enabling conditions for the sector's participation in conservation efforts.
