Malawi’s Biodiversity Finance Plan (BFP)

Malawi’s Biodiversity Finance Plan (BFP) presents a comprehensive approach to mobilizing and managing finance for the country’s biodiversity priorities, identifying a suite of priority finance solutions for implementation.

The plan responds to growing pressures on Malawi’s rich ecosystems, including forests, fisheries, agricultural landscapes, water resources and wildlife. Key drivers of biodiversity loss include climate change, habitat loss and fragmentation, pollution, invasive alien species and over-exploitation of biological resources. The BFP provides a framework for addressing these challenges through targeted finance solutions that support biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
